What is Listed Housing Agents Scheme (LHAS)?
Introduction
The Listed Housing Agents Scheme (LHAS) was implemented in Dec 95 by the Housing & Development Board (HDB), with the objective of upgrading the level of professionalism of the housing agents operating in the resale market for HDB flats.
For the housing agency to be qualified for admission under the Scheme, all the agents in the housing agency must pass the relevant examinations recognised by the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS). The listed housing agencies must have proven track records of transacting in the HDB resale market and they are also required to undertake that they will conduct the resale transactions in a respectable and professional manner and in accordance with HDB rules and regulations. These conditions are imposed to ensure that housing agents in the listed housing agencies are qualified and competent to render their services in the sale and purchase of HDB resale flats in a proper and professional manner.
What are the advantages of joining the scheme?
Listed Housing agencies under the LHAS scheme will be able to provide better services to their clients as they can submit resale applications and valuation requests, book first appointment dates and make enquiries via the HDB-ResaleNet System. Resale transactions that are handled by these housing agencies will also be accorded priority.
Furthermore, resale applications and valuation requests that are submitted by these listed housing agencies via the HDB-ResaleNet will also enjoy some savings in the administration fees.
